Assign the Safety Officer role to a user

You can assign the Safety Officer role to a user by adding them to EmergencyOS or by updating an existing EmergencyOS user

Required tier Corporate, Enhanced, or Enterprise tier. What is my tier?
Required permission User settings. This permission is included by default for the Account Administrator and Site Administrator roles. What is my role?

About the Safety Officer role

A Safety Officer helps keep employees and visitors safe during an emergency evacuation. They are responsible for confirming that everyone has safely exited the building, either by conducting roll calls at mustering points or by physically sweeping assigned areas.

By default, Safety Officers have the following permissions:

  • Mustering Events: View mustering event logs, audit logs, documents attached to events, and reports.
  • Active Evacuation: Start, stop, and manage Active Evacuations and Emergency Profile Tests

Add a user as a Safety Officer

Important:

To add a user in EmergencyOS, they must already exist as a user in FacilityOS. For more information, see Add a user in FacilityOS.

  1. From the left sidebar in EmergencyOS, select the Settings Screenshot of the Settings icon. icon, then select Users.

  2. Click Add User.
  3. In Search by Email, enter the user's email address, then click the Search search_icon.png icon.
  4. Under "Search Results", select the user you want as a Safety Officer.

  5. After you select the user, they are automatically assigned the Safety Officer role and the sites from their user setup in FacilityOS. Click Save to add the user.

Assign an existing user as a Safety Officer

  1. From the left sidebar in EmergencyOS, select the Settings Screenshot of the Settings icon. icon, then select Users.

  2. Select the user you want to assign as a Safety Officer.

    Note:

    Account Administrators cannot be assigned as Safety Officers.

  3. From the Role drop-down menu, select Safety Officer.

  4. Click Save.
