Create a custom role in EmergencyOS

You can create custom roles with sets of permissions that control what a user can do in EmergencyOS.

Who can use this feature?

  • Users with the Site Administrator or Account Administrator role or permission to manage Roles
  • Available on all tiers

Create a custom role

  1. From the left sidebar in EmergencyOS, click the Settings Screenshot of the Settings icon. icon, then select Roles.

  2. Click Add Role.
  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the role.
  4. (Optional) To describe the purpose of the role, enter details in the Description field.
  5. Under Permissions, select the permissions you want the role to have. For more information about each permission, see Understand permissions.
  6. Click Save.

The following permissions can be assigned to a role.

Manage Permissions

  • Signed-In List: Allows users to access the Signed-In List to see visitors who have signed in.
  • Employee List: Allows users to access the Employee List to manage employees.
  • Emergency Profiles: Allows users to access Emergency Profiles to add, edit, or delete profiles.
  • Mustering Events: Allows users to access Mustering Events to view upcoming and past mustering events, log new events, download audit logs, or set up scheduled drills.
  • Active Evacuation: Allows users to start or stop emergency evacuations or drills. If Emergency Profiles is also enabled, users can test emergency profiles.

Settings Permissions

  • Sites: Allows users to access Sites settings to configure emergency and notification options.
  • Users: Allows users to access Users settings to add users to EmergencyOS.
  • Roles: Allows users to access Roles settings to add, edit, or delete roles.
