If an emergency requires a roll call, you will need to make sure all participants have evacuated to the designated mustering points.
Who can use this feature?
About conducting a roll call
A roll call is an emergency response type that requires evacuees to go to designated mustering points. Evacuees will receive an email or SMS message with the locations of the mustering points. As evacuees arrive, you can confirm their arrival from the EmergencyOS Mobile app.
The EmergencyOS app provides several key screens to help you monitor the emergency.
- Dashboard: The dashboard provides an overview of the emergency, including its cause and expected duration. The expected duration indicates how quickly evacuees are expected to reach a mustering point.
-
List: The list shows all evacuees who have been notified of the emergency. You can filter the list by selecting one of the options below or by tapping the filter
icon.
- All: Shows evacuees who have been notified of the emergency
- Safe: Shows evacuees who have arrived at a mustering point.
- Unsafe: Shows evacuees that have requested assistance.
- Evacuating: Shows evacuees currently making their way to a mustering point.
Note:
If you need to add evacuees to the list during an emergency, see Add evacuees to an active emergency.
- Map: The map shows the locations of your mustering points.
Update the status of evacuees
- Start an emergency or drill.
- Open the EmergencyOS app, then tap Lists.
- To update the status of evacuees, do one of the following:
- To update the status of a single evacuee, tap the icon that appears to the right of their name and select a status.
- To update the statuses of multiple evacuees at once, tap the Pencil button, select the evacuees whose statuses you want to update, tap Change Status, select a new status, tap Update Status, and then tap Approve.
Request evacuees to update their status
If you have the Mobile Status Request add-on, evacuees can update their status themselves in real time. If an evacuee has not updated their status, you can resend the mobile status request message to remind them.
- Start an emergency or drill.
- Open the EmergencyOS app, then tap Lists.
- To request the status of evacuees, do one of the following:
- To request the status of a single evacuee, tap the icon that appears to the right of their name, and then tap Request Status.
- To request the statuses of multiple evacuees at once, tap on the Pencil
button, select the evacuees whose statuses you want to request, tap Request Status, and then tap Approve.
Scan employee passes or visitor badges to check in evacuees
If you have issued employee passes to your employees or your visitor badges have a QR code, you can scan the QR code on an employee pass or visitor badge to quickly check in evacuees at a mustering point.
If you need visitor badges to include a QR code, you can change your badge template to Style 5 or 6. For more information, see Change badge templates.
- Start an emergency or drill.
- Open the EmergencyOS app, then tap Lists.
- In the upper-left corner, tap the Scan
icon.
- As evacuees arrive, scan the QR code on their employee pass or visitor badge. The evacuee's status is updated when the "Evacuee checked-in successfully" message appears.
Assist evacuees during an emergency
If you have the Mobile Status Request add-on, evacuees can update their status to let you know they need help evacuating. You can use the EmergencyOS app to send them an SMS message or call them.
