Best practices for searching the FacilityOS Help Center

This article explains how to use the FacilityOS Help Center search bar to find the most relevant support articles and resources.

Search best practices

Include the names of modules, features, or settings

FacilityOS includes several modules, and some features or settings appear in more than one. If your search is too general, you might land on the wrong article or get an AI-generated answer meant for a different module.

For example If you’re working in VisitorOS and want to learn about document types, search for “document types in VisitorOS”. This helps you avoid results that apply to ContractorOS.

Search the exact error text

If you see an error message, paste the exact text into the search bar.

Use model numbers for hardware

If your issue involves a printer or other hardware, include the model number. This helps you find the right setup and troubleshooting steps.

  • Example: Brother QL-1110NWB badge roll

Use short phrases instead of full sentences

Search works best with short phrases. Remove extra words and keep the key terms.

Still having trouble

If you still cannot find what you need, try these options:

  • Remove extra keywords and search again using only the feature name.
  • Open a related article and use the article links to navigate to the correct topic.

If the AI-generated answer was able to help, give it a thumbs up thumbs up.png. If it still did not help, hit the thumbs down thumbs down.pngto let us know it was unhelpful.

Use quick AI answers safely

Start with the AI answer, then open the article

Use the AI answer to get oriented, then open the linked article to complete the task. Articles include extra details, such as requirements and links to helpful resources.

Use the AI answer for explanations, not confirmations

AI answers are helpful for definitions and high-level guidance. For exact UI labels, settings, and step-by-step instructions, use the full article.
