EmergencyOS release notes – April 2026

We are pleased to announce the following new and improved features in our April 2026 release!

Real-Time Hazard Alerts for EmergencyOS

Required tierAvailable in the EmergencyOS Corporate tier.

EmergencyOS now integrates with trusted U.S. public emergency alert sources (FEMA’s IPAWS feed) to surface real-time external hazard alerts directly within the platform.

New capabilities include:

  • Active Alerts card on the Dashboard displaying relevant alerts for impacted sites.
  • Ability to start an emergency directly from the dashboard alert, reducing time from awareness to action.
  • Geolocation-based relevance, ensuring only alerts affecting a site’s area are shown.
  • Automated email notification to account admins and site admins with alert details, including event name, severity, urgency, site name, and expiration time.
  • Ability to configure email notifications to selected users, roles, or contacts.

Alerts automatically appear and expire in sync with the source feed, ensuring teams always see up-to-date information.

Key benefits:

  • Proactive Safety: Move from reactive response to early preparedness with real-time external threat visibility.
  • Faster Response Times: Reduce the gap between awareness and action by triggering emergency profiles directly from an alert.
  • One Source of Truth: Eliminate fragmented monitoring across news apps, weather services, and newsletters by centralizing internal and external risk visibility in one dashboard.
  • Reduced Risk & Uncertainty: Faster awareness and documented response actions help demonstrate due diligence and strengthen compliance during audits or post-incident reviews.

Alert Only Profiles: Optional Visitor Kiosk Blocking

Required tierAvailable in the EmergencyOS Corporate tier.

Alert Only emergency profiles can now be configured to keep the VisitorOS kiosk active during an event, instead of automatically blocking access.

  • New setting Block Visitor Kiosk that can be toggled on or off is visible when the Alert Only response type is selected.
  • Existing Alert Only profiles: Default to toggled ON (maintains current behavior and kiosk is blocked).
    • For customers using Alert Only profiles to send frequent notification, we recommend toggling it off to avoid disrupting visitor flows.
  • New Alert Only profiles: Default to toggled OFF (kiosk remains accessible).
