If an emergency requires a building sweep, you will need to make sure all building zones have been inspected and cleared.
Who can use this feature?
About conducting a building sweep
A building sweep is an emergency response type that requires Safety Officers to inspect and clear the building zones configured for a site. This helps confirm that employees and visitors have exited the building and identifies any areas where someone may need assistance.
Update the status of building zones
- Start an emergency or drill.
- Open the EmergencyOS app, and tap Zones to display all zones included in the active emergency.
- Tap the zone you want to update, then select one of the following statuses:
- In Progress: The zone is currently being inspected.
- Sweep Completed: The zone has been inspected and is clear.
- Request Assistance: You require assistance sweeping the zone.
- (Optional) Enter notes describing any details you want to include.
- Tap Update Status.
- Repeat these steps as each zone is inspected. After all zones are inspected, you can end the emergency or drill.
Review requests for assistance
When a zone is marked "Request Assistance", a red indicator appears on the log icon. The log is available to Safety Officers and administrators so they can review where assistance is needed and coordinate a response.
- On the EmergencyOS app, tap the Log
icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Review the zone where assistance was requested and any notes entered by the Safety Officer.
