You can add documents, such as safety videos or visitor guidelines that visitors must accept during pre-registration or sign-in.

Add a document
- From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click Manage, then select Documents.
- Click New Document, then select a document type.
- In the "Document Details" panel, enter the document information. To learn what each option requires, see Edit document details.
- In the "Configuration" panel, choose who should see the document and when they should see it. To learn what each option requires, see Configuration.
- Optionally, to control when the document appears again for returning visitors, configure the settings in the "Expiration" panel. To learn what each option requires, see Expiration.

Click Save to add the document.
Important:
For the document to appear on the kiosk, restart the VisitorOS app. To learn how, see Apple's article Quit and reopen an app on iPad.
Document settings
When adding a new document or editing an existing one, you have the option to configure how visitors interact with it when signing in.
Tip:
If you want visitors to review documents when signing out, contact your customer success representative or the FacilityOS support team to configure your site.
Document details
The following document details are available to edit for all document types:
- Revision date: Select a date to keep track of when the document was last updated.
- Document title: Enter the title visitors will see.
- Text or Instructions: Enter the information visitors need to read, or the instructions they must follow to complete the document.
The following document details are available to edit for only "Text/Checklist" documents:
- Custom Checkboxes: Create items visitors must check off, or create yes/no questions.
- Footer: Enter the text that appears after the checkboxes or questions.
The following document detail is available for only "video" and "PDF" documents:
- Browse files: Upload a PDF or video file. This option appears only after you save the document for the first time.
The following document detail is available to edit for only "Questionnaire/Quiz" documents:
- Quiz: Create a "Regular Quiz" (ungraded) or a "Graded Quiz" (scored). The score appears when you review visitor records. To learn more about quiz documents, see Create a quiz in VisitorOS.
The following document detail is available to edit for only "File Upload" documents:
- Document Type: Select the type of document you want the visitor to upload.
Configuration
Configuration settings allow you to control who sees the document and whether visitors are required to accept or sign it.
- Assign to Sites: Select one or more sites the document applies to. The document appears only when visitors sign in to the selected site.
- Visitor Type(s): Select one or more visitor types the document applies to. Only visitors who sign in with the selected visitor type can review the document.
- Display Online for Pre-Registration: If your site uses pre-registration, turn this setting on to show the document during pre-registration. To learn how to turn on pre-registration, see Change pre-registration settings.

Document Languages: Select one or more languages the document is available in. The document appears only when a visitor selects one of those languages during sign-in.
Important:
The languages you select must also be configured for your site. To learn how to set up languages for your site, see Set languages for the
- Signature Required: Turn this setting on to require the visitor to sign the document. Video documents cannot be signed.

Allow Opt-Out: Turn this setting on to allow visitors to decline the document and continue signing in. If this setting is turned off, visitors must accept the document to finish signing in.
Note:
Visitors cannot opt out of quizzes.
Expiration
Expiration settings allow you to set when returning visitors must accept or sign the document again.
- Discard Document After Visit: Turn this setting on to discard the visitor's document when they sign out.
- Select one of the following options to control how often the document appears for returning visitors:
- Select Show Every Time for the document to appear on every visit.
- Select Expires After to set how long the document remains valid (in minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years). Visitors who return within that time will not need to accept or sign the document again. Selecting this option requires you to set the "Revision Date" in the "Document Details" panel.
- Select Validity Period to set a date range. Returning visitors within the date range will not have to sign the document again.
