You can follow the recommended iPad settings below to make sign-ins easier for your visitors.
Change keyboard settings
- On your iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap Keyboard.
- Turn off Shortcuts.
- Turn off Split Keyboard.
Change brightness and display settings
- On your iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Display & Brightness.
- Set the Brightness slider to approximately 70%.
- Tap Auto-Lock.
- To keep the iPad screen from turning off during sign-in, tap Never.
Turn off auto-brightness
- On your iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Tap Display & Text Size.
- Turn off Auto-Brightness.
Set up Guided Access
To prevent visitors from exiting the VisitorOS app, set up Guided Access in your iPad’s settings, and then start a Guided Access session for the VisitorOS app. You can follow the steps below, or see Lock iPad to one app with Guided Access for more information, including how to end a Guided Access session.
- On your iPad, go to the Settings app.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Tap Guided Access, then turn on Guided Access.
- Turn on Accessibility Shortcut.
- Tap Passcode Settings.
- Tap Set Guided Access Passcode and set a passcode. This passcode will be used when ending a Guided Access session.
Start a Guided Access session
- On your iPad, open the VisitorOS app.
- Depending on your iPad model, triple-press the Home button or power button.
- Tap Start.
