Recommended settings for your kiosk

You can follow the recommended kiosk (iPad) settings below to make sign-ins easier for your visitors.

Change keyboard settings

1. On your iPad, open the Settings app.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap Keyboard.
4. Turn off Shortcuts.
5. Turn off Split Keyboard.

Change brightness and display settings

1. On your iPad, open the Settings app.
2. Tap Display & Brightness.
3. Set the Brightness slider to approximately 70%.
   
4. Tap Auto-Lock.
5. To keep the kiosk screen from turning off during sign-in, tap Never.

Turn off auto-brightness

1. On your iPad, open the Settings app.
2. Tap Accessibility.
3. Tap Display & Text Size.
4. Turn off Auto-Brightness.

Turn on Guided Access

To prevent visitors from exiting the VisitorOS app, on your iPad, turn on Guided Access, then start a Guided Access session. For more information, see Apple's article Lock iPad to one app with Guided Access.
