Manage devices

You can manage devices, such as iPads and virtual kiosks, by editing their details, activating or deactivating them, or permanently deleting them

Who can use this feature?

  • Users with the Account Administrator or Site Administrator role, or users with permission to manage Devices
  • Available on all tiers

Edit device details

  1. From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click Manage, then select Devices.
  2. Select the device you want to edit.
  3. Make any of the following changes:
    • Site: Select the site where the device is used.
    • Device name: Change the name of the device. The device name can only be changed for virtual kiosks. If you want to uniquely identify an iPad, consider adding a tag.
    • Tag: Enter keywords that you can use to filter devices on the Devices page.
  4. Click Save.

Deactivate or activate a device

You can deactivate a device to temporarily prevent visitors from using it to sign in. When you are ready to use the device again, you can activate it.

  1. From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click Manage, then select Devices.
  2. Select the device you want to activate or deactivate.
  3. Take one of the following actions:
    • To deactivate a device, turn off Device is Active.

Delete a device

You can delete a device to permanently remove it from VisitorOS and prevent visitors from using it to sign in.

  1. From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click Manage, then select Devices.
  2. Select the Delete trash_icon.png icon next to the device you want to remove.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
