Once you receive your FacilityOS box, use this article to verify all items are included and learn how to set up your kiosk for visitor sign-in.
What is in your FacilityOS box
After you receive your FacilityOS box, confirm that it includes the following items:
- A kiosk (iPad) in an anti-theft case, with a white charging cable attached.
- Depending on your tier, you may receive a printer with its adapter and charging cable. The printer will also come with paper already inside.
- An instruction card.
If any items are missing, contact your customer success representative or the FacilityOS support team.
Kiosk setup
- Place the kiosk near a power outlet. The anti-theft case can be used to mount the kiosk to a desk or wall.
- Plug the white cable attached to the kiosk into a power outlet to turn it on.
- Connect the kiosk to a Wi-Fi network. To learn how, see Apple's article Connect iPad to the internet.
Tip:
To prevent visitors from exiting the VisitorOS app, on your iPad, turn on Guided Access, then start a Guided Access session. For more information, see Apple's article Lock iPad to one app with Guided Access.
Printer setup
If you received a Brother QL-820NWB or QL1110NWB printer, you simply need to turn it on and it will automatically connect to your kiosk via Bluetooth.
Note:
If you are using the Epson C4000u color printer, you will need to connect it to your network. To learn how, see Set up your Epson C4000u color printer.
- Connect the AC adapter to the AC power cord.
- Connect the AC adapter to the printer.
- Connect the AC power cord to a grounded AC power outlet.
- On the printer, press the power
button to turn it on.
