Update the VisitorOS app on your iPad

When a new version of the VisitorOS app is available, you can update it through the in-app notification. If you purchased your own iPad, you can also update the app from the App Store.

Note:

You can check if your iPad is already running the latest version of the app. To learn how, see Check the version of the VisitorOS app on your iPad.

Update VisitorOS from the in-app notification

If an update is available, a notification appears in the app.
  1. On the "Welcome" screen of the app, review the notification that an update is available.
  2. Confirm that you want to install the update.

    Note:

If you accidentally dismissed the notification, try the following:

    • Restart the iPad and then open the VisitorOS app for it to appear again. To learn how, see Apple's article Restart your iPad.

    • Factory reset the iPad to automatically update the VisitorOS app. To learn how, see Factory reset your iPad.

    • Wait 24 hours for the notification to appear again.

    • Contact the FacilityOS support team for assistance.

Update VisitorOS from the App Store

You must have access to the App Store on your iPad. If you received an iPad from FacilityOS, you will not have access to the App Store and must update VisitorOS from the in-app notification.

  1. Open the App Store app on your iPad.
  2. Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Scroll down to "Available Updates", then tap Update next to "VisitorOS Kiosk".
