Visitors can sign in on their mobile device in two ways: Virtual kiosk or Touchless sign-in. This article explains the difference between them and what features each one supports.
Differences between virtual kiosks and touchless sign-in
Virtual kiosks let visitors sign in on their own mobile device without using a physical kiosk (iPad). Visitors scan a printed QR code at your site to open the sign-in page in their browser. This allows visitors to sign in at an entrance where a physical kiosk cannot be installed. However, virtual kiosks do not support all the sign-in features available on a physical kiosk.
Touchless sign-in works alongside a physical kiosk to provide a more complete sign-in experience than a virtual kiosk. Visitors use their mobile device to scan the QR code displayed on the kiosk and open the sign-in page in their browser. After completing the steps on their mobile device, they receive a QR code to scan at the physical kiosk, where they complete any remaining sign-in requirements. This allows multiple visitors to complete part of the sign-in process at the same time, helping them sign in faster.
