Change returning visitors settings

Use the Returning Visitors settings to control how long a visitor’s badge, personal information, photo, and scanned ID remain valid between visits.

Required add-on Corporate, Enhanced, or Enterprise tier. What is my tier?
Required permission Site configuration. This permission is included by default for account administrator and site administrator roles. What is my role?

Access returning visitors settings

  1. From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, select the Settings Screenshot of the Settings icon. icon.
  2. Select Sites, and then select a site.

  3. Select Features.
  4. Under Returning Visitors, select Configure to access its settings panel.

Edit returning visitors settings

After you open the Returning Visitors settings panel, you can update the settings below.

Setting Description
Badge Validity Period Enter how long a returning visitor can use the same physical badge before a new badge is printed at their next sign-in.
Personal Info Validity Period

Enter how long a returning visitor’s personal information remains valid.

Visitor information is only filled in from a guest's previous visit if Remember Last Entry for Returning Visitors is turned on. For more information, see Edit data fields.

Photo Validity Period Enter how long a returning visitor’s photo remains valid.
Scanned ID Validity Period Enter how long a returning visitor’s scanned ID remains valid (for sites that use ID scanning). After this period expires, the visitor must scan their ID again at their next visit.
Display "Returning Visitors" Sign-in Option Turn on to let visitors select Returning Visitors on the kiosk. Returning visitors can still be recognized during pre-registration even if this setting is turned off.
Remember Last Visited Host Turn on to automatically assign a returning visitor to the host from their last visit when signing in through the kiosk.
Remember Last Visitor Type Turn on to automatically assign a returning visitor to the visitor type from their last visit when signing in through the kiosk.
