Quick setup for your iPad and printer

Once you receive your FacilityOS box, use this article to verify that all items are included and learn how to set up your iPad for visitor sign-in.

What is in your FacilityOS box

Confirm that your FacilityOS box includes the following items:

  • An iPad (kiosk) in an anti-theft case, with a white charging cable attached.
  • Depending on your VisitorOS tier, you may receive a printer with its adapter and charging cable. The printer also comes with paper already loaded.
  • An instruction card.

If any items are missing, contact your customer success representative or FacilityOS Support.

iPad setup

  1. Place your iPad near a power outlet. Use the Bosstab stand to mount the iPad to a desk or wall. For more information, see Setup options for your Bosstab iPad stand.
  2. To turn on the iPad, plug the attached white cable into a power outlet.
  3. If your iPad uses Wi-Fi, connect it to a Wi-Fi network. To learn how, see Apple's article Connect iPad to the internet. If your iPad uses cellular data, it will automatically connect to the internet when it powers on.

Tip:

To prevent visitors from exiting the VisitorOS Kiosk app, set up Guided Access in your iPad settings. Then open the VisitorOS Kiosk app and start a Guided Access session. To learn more about Guided Access, see Set up Guided Access.

Printer setup

If you received a Brother QL-820NWB or a QL-1110NWB printer, you simply need to turn it on and it will automatically connect to your iPad via Bluetooth.

Note:

If you are using the Epson C4000u color printer, you will need to connect it to your network. To learn how, see Set up your Epson C4000u color printer.

  1. Connect the AC adapter to the AC power cord.
  2. Connect the AC adapter to the printer.
  3. Connect the AC power cord to a grounded AC power outlet.
  4. On the printer, press the power Power button icon. button to turn it on.
