VisitorOS release notes – February 2026

We are pleased to announce the following new and improved features in our February 2026 release!

Pre-printing badges for event guests

Required tier Available for all customers on the Enhanced and Enterprise tiers, and as a paid add-on for customers on the Corporate tier.

Hosts can now print event badges in advance, before guests arrive on site. This helps reduce kiosk bottlenecks and long lines at check-in by allowing badges to be prepared ahead of time for large, high-traffic events.

Key updates include:

  • New Print Badges actions directly from the event guest list
  • Ability to print badges for:
    • Selected guests, or
    • All guests currently shown on the guest list (based on filters or search results).
  • Visual indicators showing which guests already have badges printed.

Important:

Pre-printing badges requires VisitorOS app version 26.1.1 or later. To learn how to update the app, see Update the VisitorOS app on your kiosk.

Key benefits

  • Faster event check-in: Reduces congestion and wait times at kiosks.
  • Smoother guest experience: Guests arrive to a ready badge instead of waiting in line.
  • Better event flow: Front-desk teams can prepare in advance for high-volume arrivals.
  • More control: Hosts decide exactly which guests’ badges to print and when.

Pre-registration for returning visitors

Required tier Available to all VisitorOS customers.

VisitorOS now recognizes returning visitors during pre-registration, so frequent visitors don’t have to repeat steps if their information and documents are still valid.

When a visitor is invited to an event through the portal, VisitorOS checks for a match against the visitor’s name using incremental search. When the event guest matches a prior visit at the site, VisitorOS reuses valid information, including legal documents, ID scans, photos, and badges, to streamline pre-registration and sign-in.

Note:

In this phase, returning visitor matching applies to portal-based event invitations only. Support for email and Outlook plugin invitations, and CSV imports will be added in a future release.

Key benefits

  • Faster pre-registration: Returning visitors don’t need to re-enter information or re-submit documents that are still valid.
  • Less friction for frequent visitors: Especially valuable for sites with mandatory pre-registration and a lot of documents or training videos to complete.
  • Better event experience: Frequent visitors spend less time on paperwork and more time focused on the visit itself.

Updated invitation templates

Required add-on Available to all VisitorOS customers.

VisitorOS invitation email templates have been updated to make pre-registration and touchless sign-in actions easier to find. The refreshed designs place clearer emphasis on pre-registration and touchless sign-in buttons, helping visitors understand what to do before arriving on site. The clearer call to action will also make it easier for visitors to complete pre-registration, driving higher pre-registration rates.
