You can set up badge printing for your site to allow visitors to receive badges when they sign in.

Before you start
- Connect your kiosk (iPad) to VisitorOS. To learn how, see Add a kiosk in VisitorOS.

Unbox and set up your printer. To learn how, follow the instructions for your printer model:
- Set up your Brother QL-820NWB printer
- Set up your Brother QL-1110NWB printer
- Set up your Epson C4000u color printer
- Set up your Brother HL-L3280CDW printer
- Set up your Brother HL-L3270CDW or HL-L3230CDW printer
Note:
If you received a package from the FacilityOS team that included your kiosk (iPad) and a Brother QL-820NWB or QL-1110NWB printer, badge printing is already set up for your site using Bluetooth. For more information, see Quick setup for your kiosk and printer.
Configure badge printing settings
- From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click the Settings
icon, then select Sites.
- Select the site you want to set up.
- Click Features.
- If Badge Printing is turned off, turn it on. If it is turned on, click Configure.
- From the Connection Method drop-down menu, select on of the following options:
- If your printer is connected to your network via ethernet, select Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
- If your printer is connected to your network via Wi-Fi, select Wi-Fi Direct.
- If you are using a Bluetooth connection, select Bluetooth.
- If you have set the "Connection Method" to "WiFi" or "WiFi Direct", in the Printer IP Address field, enter the IP address of the printer. To learn how to obtain the IP address, see the article for your printer model:
- From the Media Type drop-down menu, select the type of badge roll your printer is using. To know which badge roll to use for your printer, see Types of badge rolls and paper.

If you did NOT request a custom badge template, under Badge Template select the current badge template to choose a new one. This will change the visual appearance of badges.
Important:
If you are using a custom badge template, do not make any changes under "Badge Template".
- If you want badges to reprint when guests scan their QR codes again, turn on Reprint Event Badges.
- Under "Applicable to All Visitor Types, Except the Following", select the visitor types you do NOT want badges printed for.
- Click Save.
Connect your printer to a kiosk in VisitorOS
After you configure your badge printing settings, you will need to connect your printer to a kiosk added as a device in VisitorOS. To learn how to add a kiosk as a device, see Add a kiosk in VisitorOS.
- From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click Manage, then select Devices.
- Select a device to connect the printer to.
- From the Connection Method drop-down menu, select one of the following options:
- If your printer is connected to your network via ethernet, select WiFi.
- If your printer is connected to your network via Wi-Fi, select Wi-Fi Direct.
- If you are using a Bluetooth connection, select Bluetooth.
- If you set the "Connection Method" to "WiFi" or "WiFi Direct", in the Printer IP Address field, enter the IP address of the printer. To learn how to obtain the IP address, see the article for your printer:
- Click Save.
