Overview of the VisitorOS site settings

Site settings in VisitorOS control how each site looks and how visitors move through the sign-in experience. This article explains what you can manage in each settings tab for your site.

Required tier Corporate, Enhanced, or Enterprise tier. What is my tier?
Required permission Site configuration. This permission is included by default for the Account Administrator and Site Administrator roles. What is my role?

Open site settings

  1. From the left sidebar in VisitorOS, click the Settings icon, then select Sites.

  2. Select the site you want to review.

Site settings

The sections below provide an overview of each Site Settings tab and the options you can configure.

General

The General tab contains the main details for your site, including:

  • Site Name: The name of your site.
  • Time Zone: The time zone where your site is located.
  • Site Address: The exact location of your site.

To change any of these details, you will need to access site settings through FacilityOS. For more information, see Edit site details.

The General tab also includes the following settings:

  • System Assistant Contact: Set up a host to receive sign-in notifications when a visitor cannot find their host during sign-in.
  • Catch-All Host: Set up hosts to receive all sign-in notifications for visitors at the site.

Logo

The Logo tab controls the images and branding used on the VisitorOS app on your iPad and on badges.

  • Company Logo: Upload a logo to display in the VisitorOS app on your iPad.
  • Alternative Badge Logo: Use a different logo on visitor badges than the company logo.
  • Theme Name: Change the default style used in the VisitorOS app on your iPad.

Features

The Features tab controls which sign-in features are available at your site, so you can customize the sign-in flow for visitors.

Note:

Some features require the Enhanced or Enterprise tier. You can click a feature to see which tier it is available on.

  • Visitor Picture: Configure whether visitors are asked to take a photo during sign-in and whether this applies only to specific visitor types.
  • Sign-In: Controls multiple settings, including requiring visitors to complete their sign-in on the iPad when they sign in with their mobile device.
  • Sign-Out: Turn on this setting to allow visitors to sign out. If this setting is turned off, visitors will need to be signed out from the Dashboard
  • Legal Documents: Configure whether visitors are shown a legal document during sign-in and which documents are shown.
  • Badge Printing: Configure which visitors will have badges printed and which badge template is used.
  • Returning Visitors: Configure whether saved visitor information is used to prefill fields for returning visitors.
  • Voice Prompts: Turn this on to allow the VisitorOS app on the iPad to narrate what visitors need to do during sign-in or sign-out.
  • ID Scanning: Configure what information is captured when an ID is scanned.
  • Pre-registration: Configure whether guests must complete pre-registration and when they receive invitations.
  • Watchlists: Configure which watchlists are enabled at your site.
  • Visitor Approval: Configure when visitors need approval and who receives approval emails

Personalization

The Personalization tab controls the language and sign-in fields available at your site.

  • App Languages: Configure which language options are available during sign-in.
  • Visitor Types: Create, edit, or delete different types of visitors that can sign in.
  • Data Fields: Configure which information visitors must enter during sign-in.

Notifications tab

The Notifications tab controls which notifications are sent for activity at the site.

  • Sign-In Notifications: Set up sign-in notifications for your site so hosts know when their visitors arrive.
  • Sign-Out Notifications: Set up sign-out notifications so hosts know when their visitors have signed out.
  • Offline Device Notifications: Set up offline device notifications for your site so users receive email alerts when an iPad loses connection to the network.
  • Sign-Out Reminder: set up sign-out reminders on your site to notify visitors that they are still signed in, or alert hosts when a visitor stays signed in.
  • End-of-Day Summary: Set up a report that includes your visitor log for the day, the total number of visitors, and the top five hosts.
  • End-of-Week Summary: Set up a report that includes your weekly visitor log, total visitor count, and the top five hosts.
  • End-of-Month Summary: Set up a report that includes your monthly visitor log, total visitor count, and the top five hosts.
  • Signed-in Visitors Report: Set up a report that includes visitors who are currently signed in. 
  • Preferences: Set the language and the time format used in notifications.

Visitor Auto-Sign-out tab

The Visitor Auto-Sign-out tab controls when visitors are automatically signed out.

Backgrounds

The Backgrounds tab controls the images shown on the VisitorOS app on your iPad.
